Hassan Abdurrahman Othman

Hassan is the Chairman of SHARAKA Development Company, a Saudi company, involved in establishing partnerships with other small and medium size companies, providing them with expansion capital and marketing support. Hassan is also the President of Tafaseel Trading, an investment company, specializing in real estate development projects in the United Arab Emirates.

Prior to founding SHARAKA, Hassan was a Member of the Board of Directors, Advisor to the Chairman of the Board, and the Director General of the largest publishing house in the Middle East: Saudi Research and Marketing Group. In the late eighties, he assumed the responsibilities of the former Director of Corporate Human Resources at the Saudi French Bank in Riyadh while he also represented the Bank on the first ad-hoc Management Committee of the then established Institute of Banking under the Central Bank of Saudi Arabia. Prior to that, he had joined Saudi Hotels and Resort Areas Company as a Director in charge of hotel operations and Business and Corporate Development. Hassan has a keen interest in human resources development and he started his career as a lecturer of Accountancy at Riyadh University. This spurred him to establish GET, Gulf Education and Training Company in 1986. QANTARA is his brainchild, and he is the sole sponsor of the pilot QANTARA program completed in 2005. He is a member of various local and international associations such as the Minaret Business Organization and Gulf SoL. Hassan is also a member of two of The Young President’s Organization Chapters (for Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates) as well as several YPO Forums.

Patricia S. Seemann, MD

Dr. Seemann is the founding partner and chief executive officer of Sphere Advisors, a partnership of seasoned executives providing leadership and management counsel to senior executives of global corporations. Recognized as a leading expert on corporate intangibles and intellectual capital, Dr. Seemann has over a decade of experience advising leading executives of multinational organizations throughout the U.S. and Europe.

Prior to founding Sphere Advisors in January 2003, Dr. Seemann was the key strategic advisor to the Chairman and chief executive officer of Zurich Financial Services, responsible for the organizations global Group Communications and serving as a member of the Group Management Board. In this capacity, she oversaw organizational learning, branding, internal communications, media/public relations and corporate intranet/internet activities. Prior to joining Zurich Financial, Dr. Seemann advised executives on intellectual capital issues as the founder of Group 21, a successful consulting firm. Dr. Seemann was a Principal and head of Knowledge Management with Ernst & Young where she was instrumental in working with the team to develop the firm’s successful practice.

Dr. Seemann is the co-author of Social Capital: Securing Competitive Advantage in the New Economy (2001), and a frequent speaker and lecturer on the topics of Corporate Governance, Value Creation and Intangible Assets, as well as on Power, Trust, and the Effective CEO. She holds Canadian citizenship, resides in Switzerland and is fluent in English, German, and French.

Susan U. Stucky, Ph.D.

Susan Stucky is the founder and principal of Strategic Practices Group, Inc, USA. Susan brings a perspective on organizations and organizational change. She is both pragmatic and tenacious in moving from theory to practice, and, importantly, from practice back to theory. Her global client engagements often make her adapt and adopt transformative process and practice for use in the local context.

Susan has research management experience including the development and implementation of pioneering research programs across disciplines as varied as computer science, artificial intelligence, linguistics, anthropology, sociology, philosophy and, more recently, social economics. Her experience spans research centers in the university setting (at the Center for the Study of Language and Information at Stanford), and in independent research institutes (at Stanford Institute for Research on Learning). Over the course of the last twenty years, she has integrated experience from working in a broad spectrum of industries.
Susan holds a Ph.D. in Linguistics from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign with Post-Doctoral work in Cognitive Science and Artificial Intelligence at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and Stanford University.

Arshad Ashraf

Arshad is the CEO of AKN Messaging Technologies, based in Karachi with its headquarters in Malaysia. He has over nine years of global work experience ranging from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies. He has a strong entrepreneurial talent with the ability to convert abstract ideas into successful ventures.

Arshad’s professional profile also includes being the founder, and CEO of E-smart Systems Sdn Bhd, Asia’s first centralized golf reservation network. He was the managing director for Markmas Plastic Sdn Bhd, where he was the youngest Managing Director in the Markmas group of companies. He successfully managed the acquisition of the company by a leading public listed firm. As application engineer for Parametric Technology Corporation based in Boston, Singapore and Malaysia, he provided software consultation, training, and support in the use of state-of-the-art computer-aided-design and manufacturing software to multinational clients across Southeast Asia.

Arshad is also a keynote speaker at seminars and workshops on the various topics including entrepreneurship, leadership, business plan writing, raising venture capital and running start-ups. He is a visiting lecturer on Entrepreneurship at The Malaysian Institute of Management, College of Business Management, and Greenwich University. Arshad graduated from Boston University with a dual degree in Manufacturing Engineering and Liberal Arts and Sciences. He is presently a researcher at Stanford University.
